Top 5 Spring Nail Colors

-

With nude manicures dominating the fashion runways, we wondered if a color rebellion was upon us this season. Could this ultra-boring trend be a backlash to outrageous nail art? Then, thankfully, we came across genius new shades like brilliant cobalts, creamy sherbets, and mirror-like metallics that completely reinvigorated our nail polish addiction and added dozens of bottles to our stash. After testing all the latest spring colors (in the name of research, we swear), here are our top five. By Joanna Douglas, Senior Fashion and Beauty Editor

-
Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure in Peach of Cake, $7.99
How lovely is this soft, peachy coral? We felt these polishes were unimprovable, but this season they've somehow been reformulated with increased shine and chip resistance. The brush design excellent, and you don't need a base or topcoat.

-
Topshop nail polish in Sea Mist, $12
The current metallic trend transcends fashion-highly reflective chrome digits are where it's at this season. This silvery shade with a hint of aqua applies like liquid metal.

-
Essie nail polish in Under Where, $8
This stunning orchid shade is somewhere between pink and lavender, but kicked up a notch. It's also astoundingly neutral. We should know-we've been wearing it for nearly the entire month.

-
Illamasqua Nail Varnish in Superstition, $14
A vibrant look-at-me fuchsia is particularly irresistible in a long-last
ing formula with high shine.

-
Jin Soon nail polish in Blue Iris, $18
We adore nail guru Jin Soon Choi, and her new Botanical Flowers nail polish collection is leaps and bounds above the rest. This electric blue lacquer in particular is very modern, sophisticated, and really could be worn all year. Best of all is the creamy, non-toxic formula, which easily lasts a week without chipping.
